How time flies, now it is the last month of this year. Sometimes I feel that we just started to work in this year, but suddenly the end of year is coming. Our OTAI mainly supply the tool steel, alloy steel and high speed steel for more than 21years. We keep daily more than 1200Tons especially for the 4140 steel grade. There are some customers buy the 4140 steel plates directly, and the width is ranged in 2000-2300mm. But the original length from the mill is 6000-12000mm, for fitting the 20GP container, we will help to cut it less than 5800mm.And some customers may ask us to cut it as their request size flat bar.

Here we have the warm tips for those customers cut flat bar by themselves.The 4140 steel flat bar could not be cutting in fire cutting. That is because when make the fire cutting, the temperature is about 1000 degree. During proceed the cutting edge, this high temperature is meaning on making the quenching, it will make the hardness harder. What is more, it will affect the cutting part even make it crack.

By the way, we are sharing here for the difference between the saw cutting and fire cutting.Fire cutting:  The cutting price is much cheaper than the saw cutting, and the speed is fast, but the wastage is very big. Saw cutting: The price is higher than the fire cutting, the speed is slower, but the wastage is very small.
