M35 High Speed Steel can get high hardness (HRC67-70) after heat treatment process, The hardness (625 ℃ for 4 hours and HRC63 ~ 65), and M35 high speed steel with high wear resistance,toughness and bending strength ,it can avoid the mold edge collapse and reduce early damage such as cracks. it is suitable for manufacturing various kinds of tools for strong cutting,such as wear-resisting and impact-resistant tools, advanced punching dies,screw dies.

Chemical composition (%) :

C 0. 80-0.85, Si 0.20 – 0.40, Mn 0.20-0.40, Cr 3.90- 4. 40, Mo 4.75 -5. 25, V 1.75 -2. 15, W 6. 15- 6. 65, Co 4. 75- 5.2

Equivalent grade of M35 High speed steel :HITACHI standard –YXM4, SKH55, DIN Grade S6525, AISI/SAE M35.

  • High pressure resistance,
  • Sintered resistance
  • With longer lifecycle

M35 High Speed Steel Delivery Condition and Hardness :

  • Annealed, hardness 269HBS,
  • Cold drawn hardness 285 HBS,
  • The Hardness after Cold drawn, hardness 277HBS.

Temperature of Heat treatment

  • Heat treatment : Temperature -1040~1150℃, and the finished temperature is 930℃.
  • Annealed : Temperature 870-900℃,The hardness after annealed : 235-369HBS
  • Quenching and Tempering:
  1. Preheating Temperature: 732~843℃;
  2. Quenching : salt bath furnace: 1204℃; controllable furnace: 1216℃; Quenching medium: oil, air cooling or salt bath;
  3. Tempering temperature: 540 ~600℃; hardness: 60HRC after tempering
