By Compare the A2 and D2 steel chemical composition, we can know the D2 steel have more Cr than A2 steel. its Cr composition is about 2 multiple of AS steel. So D2 steel have higher strength, better wearing quality, better Polishing performance , better Corrosion resistance. but the high Cr composition also cut down its Impact toughness. In cutting Tool application, we should according to different usage choose using A2 Or D2 steel material make the tools. at the same time, the price cost also should be consideration. D2 steel price is high more than A2 tool steel.
