1.2311 steel is a German mold steel. The steel is produced through “ultra-purity” process, pre-hardened. It presents a high degree of micro-purity and excellent homogenous structure, excellent polishing and photo-etching floral properties. It is with good processing and polishing performance, more suitable Electric fire processing. Under conventional smelting, the steel has excellent quenching and tempering heat treatment properties.
1.2311 steel delivery condition: Hardened and tempered, the hardness is 28~36HRC.
1.2311 Reference corresponding grade
Chinese GB / YB standard grade is 5CrMnMo. Japanese JIS standard grade is SKT3. German DIN standard material grade is 1.2311. American AISI standard grade 6G, GOST TOCT standard grade 5XTM.
1.2311 steel related applications
1) Used for die casting molds of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and their alloys.
2) Used for hot stamping dies and various hot forging dies.
3) Used for metal extrusion die base.
4) Suitable for the production of large and medium-sized injection molds, as well as plastic molds with polishing requirements.
5) Used for making general plastic molds and mold bases.
6) Used as plastic mold base, mold base, die-cast mold base.
7) It can be used for plastic molds with tensile stress around 1000Mpa.
8) Suitable for small and medium-sized molds with thickness less than 400mm.
Recently, the price for the plastic mold steel is not very stable because of the virus situation. Now in China, the very busy companies are those ones which are producing the facemask and respirators. As the huge need from different countries, the orders are much more than the production capacity.
