30CrNiMo8 Alloy Steel- Quenching and tempering steel with a very high hardenability.
30CrNiMo8 Steel is a heat treatable steel which has at least 1.8%Cr,1.8%Ni, and 0.3%M0 as strengthening alloy elements. It is usually supplied with quenched and tempered conditions with a typical tensile strength of 1100 -1300 N/mm².
They are used for highly stressed components, where high strength and tenaciousness are of utmost importance.

Forging of DIN 30CrNiMo8 Alloy Steel
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.
Heat Treatment
Soft Annealing
Heat to 650-700oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 248.
Normalizing
Temperature: 850-880oC.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 830-880oC followed by oil quenching.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 540-680oC.
Processing
30crnimo8 steel round bar and flat sections can be cut to your required sizes. 30crnimo8 alloy steel ground bar can also be supplied, providing a high-quality tool steel precision ground tool steel bar to your required tolerances. 30crnimo8 steel is also available as Ground Flat Stock / Gauge Plate, in standard and nonstandard sizes.
