OT718 mold steel
OT718 plastic mold steel has excellent mechanical properties and workability, and the processing technology is simple, so it is widely used in mold processing and production industries. In addition, the OT718 mold steel has been pre-hardened to a hardness of 41 ~ 47HRC through a special production process when it leaves the factory, which can reduce the heat treatment link in some projects and improve economic efficiency.
OT718 mold steel, China’s grade 3Cr2NiMo is an improved steel grade in P20 (3Cr2Mo).
The quality has been greatly improved, so that it can fill the shortage of P20 mold steel and meet the occasions where P20 mold steel fails to meet the requirements. In addition to the above-mentioned Chinese standard steel grades, the steel grades currently appearing in China’s mold steel market include P20 + Ni. So in addition to not being used for plastic mold parts with corrosion resistance requirements, it is currently the most widely used general plastic mold steel typical steel grade. It is often called “advanced” plastic mold steel, and the newly developed new steel grades often take it as a typical comparison.
Delivery status: Steel is delivered in annealed condition. After agreement between the two parties, it can also be delivered without annealing.
OT718 steel is pre-hardened, and the material is uniform. The cleanliness is high. It has excellent polishing performance and photolithography. It also has high hardenability, good electrical processing performance and skin texture processing performance. Pre-hardened steel can be used in the mold cavity without quenching, and the flange can be flame hardened to increase the hardness to 52HRC.
The steel has good machinability and wear resistance, and the hardness distribution is uniform. It also has good polishing performance, simple processing technology and moderate price, so the amount is large.
