NAK80 steel is a precipitation or age-hardened mold steel with a uniform through the hardness of approximately 40 HRC. It is super clean, Vacuum-Arc Remelted steel with uniform grain structure, uniform hardness, and excellent dimensional stability. NAK80 tool steel is the improved steel grade of NAK55, on the mirror surface, EDM surface and toughness.
Form of Supply
For Japanese Daido NAK80 plastic mold steel tool steel, we can supply the round bar, steel flat bar, plate, steel sheet, hexagonal steel bar and steel square block. AISI NAK 80 steel Round bar can be sawn to your required lengths as one offs or multiple cut pieces. NAK 80 steel Rectangular pieces can be sawn from flat bar or plate to your specific sizes. Ground tool steel bar can be supplied, providing a quality precision finished bar to tight tolerances.

Advantage of JIS NAK80 steel
1. Super clean, Vacuum-Arc Remelt manufacturing process.
2. 40 HRC hardness.
3. Age-hardened for uniformity of hardness throughout, even in heavy sections.
4. When welded, NAK leaves no witness lines after re-aging.

7. Never needs stress relieving, even after heavy machining.
8. Polishes to a superior No. 1 finish, even over welded areas.
Heat Treatment of JIS NAK80 mold steel
1. Soft Annealing
Heat NAK80 steel to 640-660oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 330.
2. Hardening
Harden steel NAK80 from a temperature of 880-900oC followed by oil quenching. Hardness after quenching is 41 HRC.
3. Age-Hardening
Heat up to 550oC with heating speed 60oC/h, then hold 5 hours at temperature and then cool slowly in the air.

NAK 80 Plastic mold steel Commonly used in mirror polishing mold, dustproof, filter plate of the television, cosmetics boxes, precision wrinkles processing mold, office automation equipment, auto parts electro-discharge machining mold. Transparent or for finish product, such as family, cars, cameras, computers and other articles on the mold of the transparent product.
