P20 mold steel

Rubber mold steel is divided into three types generally.

A friend asked, what kind of material is good for rubber mold steel? Rubber mold steel is divided into three types generally. The first one is economical,1045,1050. The second one has some requirements for mirror polishing property product. P20 mold steel, 1.2738 mold steel are good for it. Third, if the mold requires both have the rust prevention and mirror polishing propertye, I t is a good choice that take the 1.2083.1.2316.S136,and other air-based stainless steel with mirror polishing performance and rust prevention function, according to the mold production cost and gloss Degree requirements, choose the most suitable mold steel for yourself.

Forged of 1.2083 Steel metal material

Pre-Heating to 600℃,Then heat to forged temperature. Soak at 800-1100°C, ensure heat thorough. Then start forged, the forged temperature no low than 650℃. After forging, cool slowly.

Heat Treatment of DIN 1.2083 Plastic Steel
  • 1.2083 Steel Annealing

Slowly heat to 750-800℃,then slowly Cools to 538℃(1000℉) in heat treatment furnace. Then cool in air. After annealing hardness HBS: 225 Max

  • Din W-Nr 1.2083 Steel Hardening

1.2083 steel having very high hardenability and should be hardened by cooling in still air. The use of a salt bath or controlled atmosphere furnace is desirable to minimize decarburization, and if not available, pack hardening in spent pitch coke is suggested.

  • Quenching of Stainless Plastic mold 1.2083 Steel material

Quenching temperature / ℃ : 1020~1050

Quenching medium: Oil cooling

Hardness: 50 HRc

  • Tempering Of 1.2083 Steel

After tempering hardness HRC or higher: 28-34 HRc

Application of Din X42Cr13 W-Nr 1.2083 Steel HSS

1.2083 steel is suitable for electric erosion operation, suitable for acid good polishing mold plastics and requirements. Mainly used in the production of PVC mold, wearability and filling the mold, including the hot hard type of plastic mold, long-life mold, such as: disposable tableware mold, optical components production, such as camera, and the sunglasses, medical containers and etc.
