OUR H13 steel-chapter 1
H13 (is a hot work die steel)-H13 belongs to hot work die steel. It is a steel type formed by adding alloying elements on the basis of carbon steel.
Unified number code T23353; grade 4Cr5MoSiV1. Comprehensive performance at medium temperature (~ 600 °), high hardenability (hardenable in air), low heat treatment deformation rate, and its performance and service life are higher than 3Cr2W8V. It can be used in die forging hammer forging die, aluminum alloy die casting die, hot extrusion die, high speed precision forging die and forging press die.
Mechanical properties
Hardness: annealing, 245 ~ 205HB, quenching, ≥50HRC
delivery status
Brinell hardness HBW10 / 3000 (≤229))
Main features
H13 steel is the most widely used and representative hot work die steel. Its main characteristics are:
(1) H13 has high hardenability and high toughness;
(2) Excellent thermal crack resistance, which can be water cooled in the workplace;
(3) With medium wear resistance, carburizing or nitriding processes can also be used to increase its surface hardness, but the heat crack resistance should be slightly reduced;
(4) Due to its low carbon content, the secondary hardening ability is poor in tempering;
(5) H13 has anti-softening ability at higher temperatures, but the hardness decreases rapidly when the use temperature is higher than 540 ° C (1000 ° F).
(6) H13 hasSmall deformation during heat treatment;
(7)H13 has Medium and high machinability;
(8) H13 has Medium decarburization resistance.
Even more remarkable is that it can also be used to make important components in the aviation industry.
