Description

30CrNiMo8 Alloy Steel- Quenching and tempering steel with a very high hardenability.

30CrNiMo8 Steel is a heat treatable steel which has at least 1.8%Cr,1.8%Ni, and 0.3%M0 as strengthening alloy elements. It is usually supplied with quenched and tempered condition with a typical tensile strength of 1100 -1300 N/mm².

Used for highly stressed components, where the combination of high strength with tenaciousness is of utmost importance.

Heat treatment

Hot plastic deformation: 850-1100  ° C
Normalizing: 850-880  ° C
Soft Annealing: 650-690  ° C
Quenching: 830-860  ° C
Tempering: 540-660 ° C

30CrNiMo8 steel is used for automotive and general components which require high demands on strength and toughness and good hardenability. It is especially suitable for heavy-duty parts in the aviation, automotive and military industries.
Applications of 30CrNiMo8: For permanently stressed components with large cross sections for automotive and mechanical engineering. For economic performance under severe dynamic stress, parts must be designed for optimum strength or toughness.
