Quenching is a heat treatment way, Quenching is the purpose of the supercooled austenite to martensite and bainite transformation, get martensite and bainite, and cooperate with different temperature tempering, with a substantial increase in steel rigidity, hardness, wear resistance, fatigue strength and toughness, etc., to meet different application requirements of various kinds of machinery parts and tools. Also can satisfy some special steel by quenching of ferromagnetism, corrosion resistance and other special physical and chemical properties.
Quenching ways have air quenching, oil quenching, water quenching and chemical mediator quenching.  Oil quenching is put the high temperature steel parts to oils cool. then get we needs Mechanical properties.

Common oil quenching steel also call name oil steel.  like O1, O2, O7 Tool Steel, etc.
