4140 alloy plate, is it the steel you are looking for? why not try to buy it at Otai company, which is one of the biggest stockists in the south of China. You can find the most suitable thickness as you want. We have abundant specifications and thickness to choose from.

AISI 4140 steel is a low alloy steel containing chromium, molybdenum, and manganese. Due to its excellent toughness, wear resistance, impact resistance, and high fatigue resistance, it is widely used in many industries. It is also widely used in the knife and hammer making.

It is an excellent material, and its versatility and practicality are so great that it is used on many axes.

When discussing 4140 steel, it is important to understand what the Numbers mean.

*4 indicates that 4140 steel is molybdenum steel, indicating that it has a higher molybdenum content than other steel.

*1 means 4140 steel contains chromium.

*40 is used to distinguish 4140 steel from other 41xx series steel.

How is 4140 steel made?

AISI 4140 is made by placing iron, carbon, and other alloying elements in an electric or oxygen furnace. The main alloy elements added in AISI 4140 are cr,  mn, molybdenum. Iron, carbon, and other alloying elements are mixed together in liquid form to cool, and then the steel can be annealed.

When the annealing is complete, the steel is again heated to a molten state so that it can be poured into the desired shape.

At the same time, some tools can be used for hot processing, cold processing to achieve the desired thickness.

Of course, other special operations can be added to reduce mill size and improve mechanical performance

Otai company is specialized in the 4140 alloy plate supply, we export the 4140 alloy steel to the worldwide, such as Europe and South America, Asian and Australia, and so on. Otai expects for your cooperation.
