Description
36NiCrMo16 Alloy Steel is an alloy steel formulated for primary forming into wrought products. Cited properties are appropriate for the quenched and tempered condition. 1.6773 is the EN numeric designation for this material.
36NiCrMo16 Alloy Steel is a quench and tempering special NiCrMo steel, characterized by very high tensile strength together with good toughness. It is usable in the hardened and stress relieved state. It can harden in the air up to thicknesses equal to 90 mm.

36NiCrMo16 Alloy Steel Heat treatment
Soft Annealing: Heat to 650-680°C, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 269.
Normalizing:Temperature: 850-880°C.
Hardening: Harden from a temperature of 835-865°C, 855-885°C followed by oil or quenching.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850°C.
