Heat Treatment of SAE/AISI D3Steel
  • D3 Steel Annealing

Slowly heat to 871-898 ºC, keep enough time, then cooling in furnace at 4-5 ºC per hour.

  • D3 tool Steel Hardening & Quenching

Quenching temperature / ℃ | salt bath furnace: 954

Quenching temperature / ℃ | controlled atmosphere furnace: 968

The heat preservation time/min: 10 to 20

Quenching medium: oil

After tempering hardness HRC or higher: 61
